The Love of Christ is a Gift

The love is Jesus is not the same as the love of a parent, spouse or child. There is no comparison to the two. I believe the reason many can’t receive the love of Christ is because they have compared His love to that of physical relationships. Especially if the personal relationships didn’t project love, it hinders the ability to love Jesus and to know Jesus loves us unconditionally.

Mathew 10:37

“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

Loving Jesus and receiving the love of Jesus is by faith.  It must come through our heart and not our mind. To take possession of this gift of love, you must receive it, take possession of it, and participate with it. Love is an action and not just a feeling.

Ephesians 1:3-6 The Message

[ The God of Glory ] How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.

It is my prayer that you are intentional about receiving the gift of God’s love through His Son Jesus Christ.  Get some scriptures on the love of God meditate (ponder) on them, speak them out loud, use your imagination in a childlike way, and continue to decree His love for you until the revelation leaves your mind and enters your heart.

We serve the one and only living God, now it’s your turn to experience this love for yourself, by faith.
